Con Wang

Con Wang (Zhongren) born in Shanghai in 1953 began to study painting when he was 14 years old, because of the influence of his two older brothers who were artists.
In 1982 he gained a Bachelor of Architectural design, successfully designing many major projects while still pursuing his artistic endeavours.

Con loves traditional Chinese culture, he admires Laozi’s philosophy “ hollow means full of water”.

Since 2005 Con has concentrated on his oil painting, often using a limited palette to create beautiful colour harmonies and rich content to portray the happiness and suffering of life. In particular Con enjoys painting still life.

Ting Yu Xuan Gallery in Shanghai began to sell Con’s paintings in 2006. An article about his work appeared in the famous Chinese magazine “China Soul” in 2007. During that year Con created a mural of large classic figures for a luxury restaurant. In 2009 he participated in a nationwide painting exhibition winning a prize.

His artworks are hanging in China, UK, Australia and Germany. Con immigrated to Australia in 2009.
