Judy Lawler

Judy Lawler is from the Sutherland Shire, which has become her favourite subject as she has always loved the beaches and bays of Cronulla and Port Hacking, being drawn to the ever changing, interesting moods and seasons of the local waterways.

She also finds inspiration from Sydney Harbour and Georges River and of course the rural landscapes of the Southern Tableands of NSW where she spends time on the family property at Braidwood.

Judy paints mostly in oil on canvas using a palette knife, taught by well known local artist, Bill Mitchell. Developing her own distinctive style, she has also used specially prepared paper for oil painting, which are the framed under glass for a different appeal.

She first exhibited in 1985 and has since held several solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions around Sydney and interstate. Her work is well sought after and hangs in many private collections locally, interstate and overseas.

She has also been involved in showing her work at the Royal Easter Show for approximately 6 years.

She has diversified into creating prints of her work, as well as a range of products including gift cards, placemats and coaster sets, and a new range of handbags, wallets, etc. which have been very popular. She has also produced tea towels, calendars and diaries.
