Sandra Forbes
Since starting a professional painting career in 1987, Sandra has won numerous awards, many of which have been first prizes including, the 1995 and 1997 Opera House Combined Art Societies Award. She is an accomplished Oil Painter and also works with Water Colours and Pastels and is invited to exhibit in Galleries and Art Shows all over NSW.
Painting traditional, rural and coastal settings, Sandra's work has been acclaimed as capturing the character, beauty and mood of the Australian landscape. She enjoys painting on location whenever possible, believing this allows her to capture the particular atmosphere of each location. Undoubtedly, these characteristics arehwat have attracted many local and overseas collectors to her work.
Born in the picturesque coastal town of Wonoona, NSW in 1943, Sandra has enjoyed sketching and painting since childhood. She undertook an Art Certificate Course in 1983 and has been tutored by John Bradley and Allan Fizzell in subsequent years. Sandra is a memeber of the St George, Southern Cross and 101 Art Societies.
